Detlev Alexander

Detlev Alexander practices Hatha-Yoga and Tibetan Buddhism in the Shambhala Tradition. After practicing Yoga with Beate Cuson (MOVEO Yoga Studio Berlin) for many years, Detlev Alexander became a yoga teacher in 2005 with the OM yoga center in New York City (according to the guidelines of the “Yoga Alliance”). Every year Detlev Alexander continues his training in New York at OM yoga with his teacher Cyndi Lee. He also enriched his education and training continuously, attending Teacher Intensive in Structural Yoga Therapy with Mukunda Stiles, Anusara Intensive with Mitchel Bleier, and Intensives with Donna Fahri and Sarah Powers. In Shambhala Buddhism he is trained as a Shambhala Guide and regularly attends meditation retreats in the tradition of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
Detlev Alexander teaches at various Yoga and Dance schools in Berlin as well as week long retreats in some of Europe’s most beautiful places. During his classes he encourages everyone to become friends with themselves and to develop loving kindness and authenticity.
Prior to his career as a yoga teacher, Detlev Alexander was a classical dancer and worked internationally with various choreographers, for example with Heinz Spoerli at Deutsche Oper in Duesseldorf and Matthew Borne on Broadway. He himself also worked as a choreographer and taught classical ballet.
