"Aloka" Child Care

We offer child care services during the Summer months each year. The children will spend their mornings and afternoons with fun activities like baking cookies, flower arranging, treasure hunts, playing football, art projects and so on. As much as the weather allows the kids will be playing outside in the beautiful surroundings of Dechen Chöling, exploring nature and watching wild life.

Aloka is a Sanskrit word meaning "light" or "luminosity". We are happy to welcome you and your kids here, providing a family friendly environment and an inspiring and nurturing time for the whole family.

Supported by a caring and nurturing staff, grounded in their own meditation practice, children learn to expand their ability to be kind and compassionate to themselves and others. In a largely outdoor setting, they learn and grow through play, organized activities, and interacting with peers.

Aloka child care is designed for children aged about 3 - 12 years (this does not apply to Family Camp - see the specific program description) and will be offered 5-6 hours each programme day, divided in two sessions. This may not cover the entire schedule of parent's programmes, so they might need to individually organize babysitting for additional hours.
