Home / Ethics and Shambhala Code of Conduct / Claim of sexual misconduct : how to proceed ?

Following the public release, on June 26, 2018, of claims of sexual misconduct within the Shambhala community (Buddhist Project Sunshine Phase 2 Report), Shambhala has contracted Wickwire Holm, a full-service business law firm located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to serve as the investigator. Within the cabinet, Selina Bath will be the primary contact and lead investigator. Selina Bath is a Certified Workplace Investigator. She has extensive training in conducting investigations and is experienced in conducting fair, neutral and independent investigations. She has conducted numerous investigations within organisations of various sizes on matters relating to sexual harassment, bullying, and disrespect in the workplace. The document linked below presents the full investigation process. Selina Bath will interview all individuals who request that their claim be investigated. The investigation process will be open to receive claims for a period of three months, ending October 31.

If you would like to request to have a claim investigated, the following two approaches are available:

  • Claims of sexual assault or misconduct by any teacher or leader in the Shambhala community can be raised directly with the investigator. She can be reached at (902) 482-7030 and [email protected]. Selina Bath’s associate, Will Russell, can be reached at [email protected] should Selina be unavailable for any reason
  • Anyone who has received support through ‘An Olive Branch’ may also authorise ‘An Olive Branch’ to share their information with Selina Bath. Further information about the process of work of ‘An Olive Branch’ can be found in the link: Presentation of An Olive Branch Services
