In 1980, during a visit to Patzcuaro, Mexico, the Dorje Dradül composed The Roar of the Werma: The Sadhana of the Warrior. This practice text, or sadhana, was written because of the need for Shambhala vision in our world and the need for future generations to develop a strong connection to their primordial human wisdom.

Many of us continue to be inspired by the Dorje Dradül’s vision for a good human society and his skillful means to develop it.  We practice the Werma Sadhana to connect to the Dorje Dradül’s heart of sadness, the elemental and cosmic energies of Drala, and our very human path of being gentle warriors in the world.

Prerequisite to receive the Werma Sadhana transmission: previous completion of Warrior Assembly. The Warrior Assembly and the Werma Sadhana Retreat are being held concurrently. In the mornings, we will all practice and study together. Along with the Warrior Assembly students, the Werma Sadhana retreat participants will refresh and deepen in the profound principles and practices introduced at Warrior Assembly. In the afternoon, the Werma sadhana participants will practice and study the Werma sadhana, and the Warrior Assembly students will continue with the Warrior Assembly study and practice. We will all be together in the evenings for practice.
