Gérard Étienne

Gérard Étienne, Cháng Wēn Jū Shì, is a Buddhist lay monk, connected to the Chinese tradition of the 6th Patriarch Huì Nēng and the Pure Land tradition. He has been teaching Qi Gong, Tai Ji Quan, Ba Gua Zhang, sitting meditation and the art of mantra recitation for 30 years.
He is also an actor, director and theatre trainer with the Actor’s Studio Method. These different experiences have led him to develop a Zen theatre, both on stage and in daily life, where internal martial arts and theatre intertwine and enrich each other to give a stable, joyful and fruitful presence.
