Helen Vink

She entered Shambhala in 1997 through the Dharma Art teachings in the Shambhala Center in Oegstgeest, and consecutively took part in a one-time 10-day Dharma Art program in Dechen Chöling, and completed the series of Dharma Art programs. Subsequently she started the studies of Shambhala and Buddhism and is a senior student of Sakyong Mipham, studied with Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and has studied the contemplative art of Bugaku (Japanese court dance).

She has been living and working for 3 years at Dechen Chöling from 2000-2002 as Head of Office, and from 2002-2003 at Shambhala Mountain Center, as assistant to the creative director of the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya and being a parttime cook.From 2004-2009 she held a position as Nalanda coordinator at the Shambhala Amsterdam Board. In 2006 she coordinated the first Miksang Photography course in Europe, in Cologne with Michael Wood, and brought Miksang photography to the Netherlands. Since 2009 she has been teaching full-time Miksang Photography in the Netherlands, Europe, and online.

Hèlen Vink is an artist, a Miksang photographer, sharing her poetic Miksang images daily on social media. She enjoys photography as a permission slip to wake up, celebrate, honor and share the sacredness of ordinary beauty in modern times. Hèlen lives in Zandvoort, the Netherlands.
